Hotels require a deposit of 50% to confirm a booking. Allow a minimum of an extra 7 days for transfer of funds unless booking are made with a credit card. There is a 15% discount on most hotel rates during the low season of 1 April to 15 June. Tariffs are in US$ Full Board per person sharing. Single Room Supplement $35 per night. Children under 12, 50%. Credit cards are accepted at most lodges. Swala Safaris will be happy to book lodges for you at a discounted rate.

A. NGORONGORO CRATER RIM LODGES: Twenty minute drive to entrance to Crater.

Tourist Hotels: Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge $95.  Sopa Lodge $120 - $140.   Serena Lodge $140 - $160.  
Luxury Lodges: Conscorp $520.  

B. NGORONGORO AREA. Small private and intimated lodges situated on the Crater slopes. Recommended.  
35 minute drive to Crater entrance.

Ngorongoro Farm House  $130.    Plantation Lodge $125.    Ngorongoro Safari Lodge $125.     Kifaru Lodge $120.

C. NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA. Ndutu Lodge is the only lodge bordering the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Serengeti National Park. It is an excellent base for safaris when the migratory herds are in the south Serengeti (January to May). 

Ndutu Safari Lodge: June-Nov.$ 95;  1 Dec-31 March $130. Recommended.

D. SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK. 

HOTELS. 100+ rooms. Resident herds of wildlife are year round. Best months for seeing the big herds of migratory animals are given below. If going on a Balloon Safari ($400), it is recommended to stay at one of the central Serengeti lodges. 

Lobo Wildlife Lodge   $120. North Serengeti. Architecturally impressive. Recommended July to October.
Seronera Wildlife Lodge $120. Central Serengeti. Recommended May-June and December.
Serena Lodge    High $145. Peak $160. West Central Serengeti. Recommended May-June and December.
Sopa Lodge      High $130. Peak $140. South central Serengeti. Recommended January to June and December.

CAMPS. Recommended for those interested in wildlife. Tents are spacious and have en-suite bathrooms. All camps have a dining room and bar. Facilities for recharging camera batteries.

De Luxe Camps. Small, comfortable camps. Situated just outside the park thus no restrictions on walking and night game drives. These camps have a lot of wildlife. At Ngome Camp and Ikoma Bush Camp the big herds pass through in June-July and October-early December.

NGOME CAMP (West Serengeti)

Ngome Camp in the western Serengeti. The camp is a few kilometres from the Ikoma Gate of Serengeti National Park. There are resident animals throughout the year. During the migration period, large herds of gnu and zebra pass by the camp.

Ngome Camp is $100 per person. There are five tents, all with twin beds. Tents are spacious with en suite bathroom. 

 There is a small dining room and bar.
