The safaris below are suggested itineraries only. They can be customised to what you specifically require. Tarangire is recommended from July to October. Off the beaten-track are Lake Natron and Oldoinyo Lengai and Lakes Eyasi and Lake Victoria. Safaris start and end in Arusha. Tariffs are per person. Fly-In/Drive-out safaris to the Serengeti are recommended. There is a supplement of $150 per person for the flight.
As an addition to a safari, we recommend the Tanzania Coast. It is one of Tanzania's best kept secrets. The coast may not have the exotic appeal of Zanzibar but it has wonderful un-spoilt beaches. Tariffs for 3 days is from $200 per person. See Tanzania Coast page.
Serengeti is well worth at least three days; it's a large park. For the more hardy, climbing the active volcano Oldoinyo Lengai is a challenge (8-12 hours). The Ngorongoro Highlands/Embakai to Lake Natron walk is an option in the 11 to14 day safaris or an extension to a shorter safari. Tariffs reflect the variation in cost of accommodation options.
Optional: Mkomazi Private Camp - a great place to get away from the usual tourist route. $780 per person for 4days/3 nights with transfers to and from Arusha/Kilimanjaro included. Small groups only. Mkomazi is an excellent option for those who want to get away from the normal tourist route and who want to do a little hiking in a wilderness area. Only two hours from Kilimanjaro.
PAYMENTS. Swala Safaris is an accredited safari company with the Tanzania Association of Tour Operators and is licensed to carry out safaris. The company has been in business for 7 years. We require 30% on booking to confirm your lodge room deposits. The remainder must be paid 30 days prior to departure as full payment is required by by hotels. The simplest and cheapest method is to pay by telegraphic transfer; you will be supplied Swala's bank account details on booking your safari. Payment by Credit Card is unfortunately a nightmare for us with the Bank charging 5% and delaying payment for many weeks. Tariffs are valid until 31 March 2007.

Day 1. Arrive Arusha and transfer to lodge.

Day 2. Drive to Tarangire National Park for day in park. Overnight Tarangire
Safari Lodge/Tarangire River Camp/Tamarind Camp.
Day 3. Continue to Lake Manyara. Afternoon in Manyara N. Park. Overnight Migunga Forest
Camp/Wild Africa Lodge/Eunoto Lodge.
Day 4. Continue to Serengeti via Ngorongoro Highlands and Olduvai Gorge. Visit to site
museum. Overnight Ndutu Lodge.
Day 5. Game drives Overnight Ndutu Lodge/Seronera Wildlife Lodge.
Day 6. Continue to Ngorongoro Crater. Afternoon in Crater. Overnight Ngorongoro
Wildlife Lodge/Ngorongoro Farm House.
Day 7. Return after breakfast to Arusha. For those flying out from Kilimanjaro Airport
transport will be arranged. There are shuttle services connecting with Nairobi every
morning at eight o'clock and at two o'clock in the afternoon.
8 Days / 7 Nights. Recommended in combination with a Kilimanjaro climb or Zanzibar.

Day 7. Game viewing in Serengeti. Overnight Lobo Wildlife Lodge/Seronera
Wildlife Lodge/Ndutu Lodge.
Day 6. Continue to Ngorongoro Crater. Afternoon in Crater. Overnight Ngorongoro
Wildlife Lodge/Ngorongoro Farm House.
Day 7. Return after breakfast to Arusha. For those flying out from Kilimanjaro Airport

COMBINED TANZANIA + KENYA
The northern and central Kenya parks of Samburu, Kora and Aberdares make an excellent combination with those of Tanzania. The Masai Mara is one of the best parks in Africa and is particularly worth a visit during the dry season from July to October. It is only an eight hour drive to the Serengeti although it is recommended to stop a night en route at a lodge in Musoma or on Lake Victoria's Speke Bay Gulf.
10 Days/9 Nights.

Day 1. Drive to Kericho via Lake Naivasha and Nakuru.
Overnight Kericho Tea Hotel.
Day 2. Continue to Lake Victoria. Overnight Speke Bay Lodge/Musoma/Serengeti
Stop Over.
Day 3. Continue to Kenya/Tanzania border and then to Serengeti. Overnight
Seronera Wildlife Lodge/Ikoma Bush Camp.
Day 4-5. Game viewing in Serengeti. Optional walks and night game drive. Overnight
Seronera Wildlife Lodge/Ikoma Bush Camp.
Day 6. Continue to Ngorongoro Crater via Olduvai Gorge. The road passes through the
central part of the Serengeti and the Serengeti Plain, where between late December and May
the big herds concentrate. Overnight Ngorongoro Lodge.
Day 7. Day in Ngorongoro Crater. Exit
crater in mid afternoon for the drive to Lake Manyara. Overnight Migunga Forest
Camp.
Day 8. Day in Lake Manyara National Park. Overnight Migunga Forest Camp.
Day 9. Return after breakfast to Arusha. Connect with Nairobi shuttle.
EXTRA SERVICES:

Safari Cost includes: Vehicle+driver-guide, park

Ngorongoro and/or northern Serengeti, hotel (bed and breakfast) in Arusha, hikes, Olduvai
Gorge fee.
Safari Cost does not include: meals in Arusha, laundry, bar drinks, bottled mineral water,
gratuities, visa fees, airport tax, travel insurance, and items of a personal nature.
VEHICLES: 4-wheel drive game viewing vehicles with game viewing hatches. Our driver-guides are experienced and knowledgeable in wildlife and their game spotting skills are excellent.
