Bookings for a safari or for accommodation can be made through Swala Safaris. Tariff rates are per person per day on a full board basis and include park fees and game drives.
The southern circuit of Tanzania is very different from that of the north. It is different in scenery, in wildlife species, in vegetation, and in general is almost a different country. Unless you have three weeks or more, it is not advisable to include the southern circuit with the north. They should be seen as two distinct circuits. Tariffs are per person per night inclusive of entrance fees and game drives. Safaris are based on two persons sharing. Inquire for groups of 4 or more.
The largest and nearest city to the southern parks is Dar es Salaam, the de facto capital of Tanzania. There are numerous international daily flights to and from Dar es Salaam. Although the southern Parks are not as well-known as those of the north, such as the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, they are nevertheless extremely good. They have the great advantage of having fewer visitors; game viewing can be at its best. Ruaha is considered a favorite by many naturalists and wildlife enthusiasts.
The Parks are accessible from January to mid-March and June to December. From mid-March to end of May the heavy rains make the dirt roads very difficult going.

It is only the latter that gives an opportunity of seeing the endemic mangabey or the rare Abbott's duiker.
